I visited this museum as a kid in summer 1986. I can't remember much of it, but
I do remember that it was fun, and they had plenty of locomotives there -- not
that I was ever interested in trains. Anyway. This time I got lay my eyes on
something else, including Mercury capsule, helicopters, airplains, and cars. On
of The Things over there was 2-axis rotating flight simulator. My dear wife
agreed to wait while I was standing in line to get in. For some reason she
wasn't coming for a ride with me. I was a little suspicious if my stomach could
take it, but 3 minutes in flight proved to be worth 20 minutes of wait. It was a
little weird at first to fly upside down and spin around, but apart from lack of
G-forces, it was the best flying experience I've had. Not the most realistic,
but the most authentic. I want one of those things home. :-)
